Mother's Day Rose

A few years ago, my son took me out for Pizza on Mother's day. The Pizza Parlor was giving all the mothers a red rose.
After my son left that day, I chopped the flower blossom off the stem, cut about one inch from the base of the stem, and dipped it in water, then in rooting hormone. I planted it behind my house where the soil stays damp and there is no direct sun, making sure it never dried out.
The next spring, it leafed out nicely, and grew to about eighteen inches tall.

It's second year I transplanted it into my rose garden, and look what I got.
This is a very fragrant rose, a little fruity but with the deep rose scent we all love so well.
